Video: how to recreate bottom lashes with makeup

When recreating lost or sparse eyelashes with makeup and false lashes, it's easy to forget to pay attention to your bottom lids — even though they used to have lashes too!

So even though I've already done video and picture tutorials on lashes in general, I wanted to make a quick video for you entirely dedicated to those little guys on the bottom who are so often overlooked. Enjoy, and let me know what you think! xo

    Thank you for making such wonderful tutorial videos. I have been wanting to learn how to put eyelashes on for such a longtime. I have had alopecia since I was a child I am know in my forties, and trying to learn for the first time. Do you do any classes or is it strictly the videos. I have looked for someone to show me and have had no luck not to mention the embarrassment that comes with trying to explain why I have no Hair.. Just wanted to thank you for inspiring me to look and feel pretty again. Diana

    Carly, I stumbled upon your video about artificial lashes on one trichotillomania forum- since I've been fighting this disease for over twenty years I thought that I've mastered my makeup craft to cover the loss of eyebrows and eyelashes, but I was amazed to see you do it so wonderful and precise. Thank you for your inspiration, I am going to take your advice on eyebrows especially, and maybe even buy some lashes and try to play. You are very creative and talented, and beautiful, if I may say.     Hello! I have been struggling with alopecia areata since I was a child but it has decided to begin behaving like totalis as of late. I really appreciate your videos, especially since this is my first time dealing with eyebrow and lash hairloss. I was also wondering where you get hats? I work in a professional office but am not really into wigs or scarves so I've been wearing some casual hats but as the weather is cooling down I am looking for something more appropriate.

    I also wonder if you have a preferred brand of eyelashes? My lashes are just starting to fall out so I'm buying products so I am prepared when they are all totally gone. Thank you so much for everything you do.

      Hi Samantha! I get my hats from an online retailer called Suburban Turban in the UK, and I LOVE them. They ship to many places around the world!

      My preferred brand of eyelashes is called Ardell, and my favorite type of lash in their range is called "Demi Wispies" (I also like "Luckies" for a shorter lash.) You can get them anywhere, in drugstores and online!

    Hey that's a cool blog you have. Very clear and helpful tutorials. As a younger male dealing with AU, i can't apply your tips, but as a make up pro, i really appreciate how creatively you work around your lack of facial hair. I usually go au naturel but I might reconsider it and try to take the advantage of some make up, in a subtle and natural looking way (for a guy) and see if it works.     I found your site by way of YouTube while looking for ways to tie head scarves. I must tell you how very nice and clear your videos are. Your filming is steady and sharp and does not leave one sea sick after watching it. You have a wonderful voice and give easy to follow instructions and your little re-cap of directions before closing is great. I'm incorporating your make-up tips for myself too.     I spent 10 minutes trying to find where I could leave you some sort of comment. You have honestly made my entire night...WEEK. I have been dealing with trich for years (I'm 19) and it's gotten to the point where every morning, I am frustrated my eyes don't look a certain way.
    I thought I was the only one that wished for a way to create fake bottom lashes. I thought I was crazy for ever wanting to zero in and be so picky about them. However, I just watched your video "How to recreate bottom eyelashes." Like, you are an inspiration. Your smile is gorgeous- I say that because, well it is, but because you are smiling about something I've cried so much about. And for you to be so reasussuring and enthusiastic makes me want to look at my makeup routine in a whole different light, too.

Your words about smiling about something that's caused you tears were beautiful -- that's what it's all about, I suppose, isn't it; learning to make a negative situation positive? I promise I had my share of tears too in the past! Really hope you find the lower lash tips helpful--for me, they were like the final missing piece of the puzzle re: eye make-up, and once I mastered 'em, I wondered how I ever did without.     Hi~
    I've used your technique and it really helped me a lot.
    I have alopecia too (universalis) so it was hard for me to achieve the "normal" look with make up ^^
    can you do more tutorials pleaaaaaaase? like night out or day time kinda make up
    I really wish there is an alopecia or chemo or any kind of hair loss beauty guru like the other girls on youtube
    I always struggle trying to do the makeup like the ones on youtube
    because of some differences ( eyelash\brow hair loss)
    you are the first one that I found and really helped me
    so that's why I wish you continuing doing beauty tutorials for all the girls and women like us.

    Hey Carly! I just really wanted to tell you how thankful I am for what you do.. My mom got recently diagnosed with NHL and she's gonna start chemo soon..She doesn't want to worry me and my brother but I can see how she's sad mostly b/c my brother is getting married soon and she didn't want to go like that to the wedding and she also doesn't want all the relatives to really notice her situation...So yeah I started searching for solutions and then I came across you :)) My mom smiled after watching your videos told me ' what I sweet, beautiful girl' ^^ but most importantly I could see, she was a bit relieved b/c she saw that she could do something to feel pretty!
